Featured Artist - Lily O'Shaughnessy

Singer/songwriter Lily O’Shaughnessy has lived in Wiltshire all her life but has Irish descents. Now 15, she is looking to do a BTEC in music after realizing she wants to pursue music as a career.

Despite her love for performing and writing music, she knew from a young age the competition to make it big and therefore looked into other careers in music. She has now found out about music therapy and is looking to become one when she's older. At the age of 10, she had a few guitar lessons, but stopped them to teach herself and has been ever since.

At that age she was inspired by Taylor Swift and often played her songs. Also having listened to Yiruma and Ludovico Einaudi she was determined to learn piano. Having mastered those pieces she asked for lessons to learn how to read music, which she has been having now for around a year and a half. She has had singing lessons for nearly 2 years now and is currently working on her grade 6.

Now she listens to a variety of music from Jeff Buckley, to chart music, to Eva Cassidy to Chopin. This comes through in her own original songs, written on both the guitar and piano. Lily has been writing her songs since she was 12 but has only just started to play them in public.
